After two graduate degrees and almost the completion of a Ph.D. you would think my career would have helped me bring in much money.

Well, with piles of student loans I worked for a number of years as a college professor to pay them off and to help bring in income for my husband and for me, but never seemed to be able to get ahead. Once we had our first daughter, we made the joint decision that I needed to stay home with her no matter what, but how could I continue helping pay down the debt as well as contribute to easing the added expenses of a growing family (which seemed to be adding to the debt over time) if I was to stay at home?

On top of it, a few months later, my husband lost his job and money was soon going to run out!!

I began looking around for a business I could do from home, but most of the “opportunities” I found were either scams, Multi-level marketing schemes (MLMs), or companies where I would need huge upfront investments, inventory, and BIG risk. I wanted nothing of having to run all over town doing parties and delivering products. I had a newborn! Why would I want to do that to myself and how could I ask others to do that if they were interested in going into business with me? All I wanted to find was a legitimate non-MLM business, where I could help others by helping them help themselves in providing peace of mind for their families. Well, I found it! Within a year, I had replaced my teaching salary and, with hard work, within 2 years, I had tripled it and continue to grow. As an employee, no company is going to give you that type of raise. This is when I knew our future was totally in our hands; not an employer who could so easily decide to downsize (which we have experienced two times in the last 3 years with my husband’s employment).

With our company (which is 23 years old with CONTINUAL GROWTH, is debt-free, and an Inc. 500 as well as a Better Business Bureau Hall of Famer, etc.) we are helping people live healthier lives, enhancing the environment and aiding people in developing financial freedom while becoming recession-proof, with practically no start up cost and NO INVENTORY! With my husband’s extensive 20+ year background in business in Corporate America, he could see that this is a business to believe in and become a part of.
